Ron Contillo

Ron has 33 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sectors. Most of this time has been spent directly providing, managing and leading engineering services contracts supporting numerous DoD and NASA agencies. Prior to Velos, he spent seven years with Swales Aerospace/ATK Space Systems and served as Vice President of the Engineering Services Business Unit where he achieved revenues averaging over $75M per year. During this time, he had responsibility for over 200 workers and management oversight for 25+ engineering services contracts ranging up to $200M in total value. Ron’s background includes space flight systems experience on various programs such as Delta II, Titan II, Titan IV, and several national security classified programs. He also brings knowledge across related functions and disciplines such as program management, contract management, project control, EVMS, mission systems engineering, launch and launch vehicle integration & operations, instrument systems engineering & management, I&T, business development, and capture and proposal management. Ron has an MBA from Pepperdine University as well as a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University. In his spare time Ron plays ice hockey and serves as a Management and Organization Leadership Adjunct Faculty member for Southern New Hampshire University’s Center for Online and Continuing Education MBA program.
