ARLINGTON, VA-Velos is proud to announce the addition of Ken Rothaermel as our new Vice President of Engineering & Technical Services-National Security. Ken brings 27 years of experience in the defense, aerospace, and intelligence sectors. His experience spans logistics, aviation, strategy, planning, acquisition and requirements development, and program management across both military/government and industry environments. His focus will be to grow our National Security and Defense business area while managing existing and new National Security engineering services contracts.
Ken’s military career of 21 years in the Supply, Aviation, and Joint arenas provided him insight and experience in several areas, including logistic support, supply chain management, all aspects of aviation ( operations, planning, maintenance), electronic warfare, strategy development, intelligence operations and support, joint force development, requirements development, funding and acquisition. Ken’s career spanned all levels of DoD service, from being ship-based in his early career to culminating in direct support of the most senior leaders as a Special Assistant to the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Upon his retirement, Ken joined Northrop Grumman Corporation, establishing and managing strategic modeling and simulation service to corporate priority programs and military Service organizations. He then served as Director of Business Development for the largest Business Unit in the Technology Services Sector.
Ken comes to Velos from SRI International, a non-profit technology research and development institute, as a Business Development Executive who identified military applicable technology projects that supported service modernization requirements to bring forward revolutionary technological capability to the warfighter.
